One person reads this inbox and answers it. There is no ticket system and no bot.
What gets a fast answer
- A wrong result. The most useful message we get. Tell us the calculator, the numbers you entered and the answer you expected. We look at these first and we look at them the same week.
- A calculator you wish existed. Most of what is on this site was built because somebody asked for it.
- An out-of-date standard. If a code figure quoted here has been revised, we want to know before your inspector tells you.
- Teachers. Use anything here in a lesson. If a page would be more useful in a different form for a class, say so.
What we cannot do
We cannot check your project, sign off your drawings, or tell you whether your ramp will pass inspection. That needs somebody licensed in your jurisdiction who has seen the site, and it is not something an email can do responsibly. The disclaimer sets out where that line falls.
We also do not accept guest posts, paid links, or sponsored placements, so those emails will not get a reply.
Corrections policy
If we publish something wrong, we fix it and the date at the foot of the page changes. If the error was significant, the page says what changed. We would rather carry a visible correction than a quiet one.
